2025 Bihar assembly election phase 2 sees strong turnout, NDA confident of big win

The second phase of the 2025 Bihar assembly elections started on Tuesday at 7 am.

Bihar continues to see a high number of votes being cast on the second day and the final phase of the 2025 assembly election. On the second day of the election, candidates are fighting for 122 Assembly seats spread across 20 districts.

Sanjay Jaiswal, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP, has expressed confidence in the ongoing Bihar election. He said, "The kind of crowd visible indicates that this time the figure will cross 70%. We are going to form the government with a very large majority by crossing the figure of 200 seats," according to an ANI report.

According to the data of the Election Commission of India, Bihar has recorded a total of 47.62 per cent votes cast on the second phase of Assembly polls as of 1 pm on Tuesday. While at Madhubani constituency, a total of 43.39 per cent votes have been cast.

Bihar Congress president Rajesh Ram said, "INDIA Alliance's body language has changed. Voters' body language has also changed. It shows that it's time to bid goodbye to the Government which ruled for 20 years. The public has made up its mind that a new Government is needed here, and a new Government of the INDIA Alliance will come here."

Second phase of the Bihar elections

Bihar sees a head-to-head contest between the INDIA bloc and NDA even on the second day of the election.

Kishanganj district stands at the top of the list when it comes to the maximum number of votes cast during the second phase, with as high as 51.86 per cent, followed by Gaya with 50.95 per cent. Third position is held by Jamui with 50.91 per cent and Banka ranked fourth with 50.07 per cent.

During the first phase of the 2025 Bihar Election, the ECI recorded the highest polling percentage of 65.08 per cent in the state's history was recorded.

The second phase of the 2025 Bihar assembly elections started at 7 AM, Tuesday. Ranging across 122 constituencies in 20 districts, covering approximately 3.7 crore voters and 243 seats of the state.
