The Bihar Assembly Election 2025 has reached its final stage, with the second and last phase of voting ending on November 11. The two-phase election featured intense campaigning, high voter turnout, and close competition among the major political parties, making it one of the most closely watched state elections in recent years.

This election will decide whether Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his JD(U)-BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will continue to lead the state or if Tejashwi Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-led INDIA alliance will form a new government. Nitish Kumar, who has been chief minister nine times, faces one of the toughest challenges of his political career as Bihar’s political future hangs in the balance.

The second and final phase recorded a voter turnout of 66.91 %, showing strong participation from citizens across the state. According to exit polls released after voting ended, the NDA alliance is expected to win a clear majority. Most surveys have predicted that the BJP and JD(U)-led alliance will easily cross the halfway mark of 122 seats in the 243-member Bihar Legislative Assembly.

On the other hand, the RJD-led Opposition alliance, Mahagathbandhan, is projected to get around 100 or fewer seats, suggesting that it may fall short of forming the government.
