Tension marked the first phase of voting in Bihar, where Deputy CM Vijay Sinha came under attack. Stones and shoes were hurled at his convoy in Bihar's Lakhisarai district. According to reports, unidentified miscreants surrounded the Deputy CM’s convoy and launched the attack. The BJP has blamed the RJD for the incident. Following the attack, Vijay Sinha filed a complaint with the Election Commission.

It has been reported that while he was travelling to Khoriari village in Lakhisarai, his vehicle was surrounded by Murdabad (down with) slogans. During the attack, some people threw stones at his car and shoes were hurled as well. Sinha also claimed that RJD miscreants threw cow dung at his vehicle.

Three-time MLA Vijay Sinha, contesting again from Lakhisarai this election, accused RJD of orchestrating the attack to stop him from visiting his constituency and was visibly angry against Tejashwi Yadav's party. "They are RJD goons. They know that the NDA is returning to power again, so they are indulging in hooliganism. This time, the bulldozers will roll over them. They have sent back my polling agents and did not allow them to vote. Look at their behaviour at booths 404 and 405 in Khoriari," he warned.
