Making an emotional appeal to the people of Bihar ahead of the assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday released a video message, saying that he had served Bihar with "honesty and hard work" since taking charge in 2005.
In a video shared on social media, the Janata Dal United leader reflected upon his over two-decade-long governance journey and appealed to voters to give the NDA another chance in the forthcoming polls.

‘Being a Bihari was a matter of insult’
The CM recalled the state's condition when he first became the chief minister and said, "My dear brothers and sisters of Bihar, you have given me the opportunity to serve you since 2005. I want to tell you that the situation in which we got Bihar, at that time, being a Bihari was a matter of insult. Since then, we have served you day and night with honesty and hard work."
He credited his government for ushering in a transformation in the field of education, healthcare, roads, electricity, drinking water, and agriculture and making do provisions for the youngsters.

Emphasis on Women empowerment and inclusive growth
Accentuating the work of his administration for women, Kumar said, " The previous government did not do any work for women. We have now made women so strong that they are no longer dependent on anyone and can do all the work for their families and children. We want to tell you that we have developed all the classes of society from the beginning "
He further said, "Whether you are a Hindu, a Muslim, an upper caste, a backward, a Dalit, or a Mahadalit, we have worked for everyone. I have not done anything for my family."
Kumar, who took oath as Chief Minister for a record ninth time after rejoining hands with the BJP in 2024, said, “Now, being a Bihari is not a matter of insult but a matter of respect.”

He urged people to support the NDA in the elections, saying, "Give us one more chance. After this, more work will be done, which will develop Bihar so much that it will be included in the top states." The 243-member Bihar Assembly is set to go to polls in two phases on November 6 and 11, with counting scheduled for November 14.
