Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam are all set to be seen in Suparn S Varma's 'Haq'. The actors’ first looks were out with the release of the film's teaser. The movie is based on the Supreme Court's verdict in Mohammed Ahmed Khan vs. Shah Bano Begum case. The film is slated for release on November 7.
Personal law or secular law-which takes precedence? This debate was ignited by this case. Emraan and Yami's characters are poised to be quite complex. The film draws inspiration from Zeenat Shaukat Ali's book 'Bano: India's Daughter'. This controversial case from the 1980s continues to spark debates even today. In order to obtain justice for herself and her children under Section 125, Yami's character goes to court. And that's where the trouble starts- the problems remain unresolved to this day.

The director of 'Haq', Suparn S Verma, has previously helmed series such as 'Sirf Ek Banda Kaafi Hai', 'The Family Man', and 'Rana Naidu'. Apart from Emraan and Yami, the film will also feature Sheeba Chaddha, Danish Husain, and Aseem Hattangadi.
