Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) recorded a robust growth in the second quarter. Its consolidated net profit rises by 28% Year-on-Year (YoY), at rupees 644 crore. However, the company’s total income for the quarter was comparatively flat to that of last year, but the massive profit was driven by a strategic shift and gains in its efficiency.

Growth structure of AGEL

Adani Green Energy’s revenue growth was generated from its sale of green power (solar and wind farms), which shot up 20% to ₹2,776 crore. This concentration on the core operations, combined with the commissioning of new, highly efficient power plants, broadened the company’s profitability. AGEL’s EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation) rises by 87.5%.

Besides the healthy financials of the company, the physical expansion was also a major reason for AGEL’s growth. The company’s total operational capacity has expanded by 49% over the last year, which is currently standing at 16.7 gigawatts (GW), strengthening the company’s position as India’s largest renewable operator. Recent projects of Adani Green include expanding its solar-wind hybrid parks in areas of Khavda in Gujarat and across Rajasthan.

The company said, “With robust manpower deployment, localised supply chain, and advanced technologies like robotic solar module installation, AGEL is on track to achieve 30 GW RE capacity in Khavda by 2029, setting a global benchmark for the speed of execution at such a large scale, as mentioned in NDTV reports.

Over the last year, capacity additions were recorded at 5,496 MW, which includes 4,200 MW of solar capacity spreading across different locations of 2,900 MW in Khavda, Gujarat, 1,050 MW in Rajasthan, and 250 MW in Andhra Pradesh. Wind capacity was recorded at 491 MW in Khavda, and solar-wind hybrid capacity was recorded at 805 MW in Khavda.
