Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani tops the list of India's ultra-rich 100 individuals. This industrialist and his family have retained their position among the 100 richest Indians as published by Forbes, for the second consecutive year in 2025, following 2024. Their total wealth is approximately ₹10 lakh crore (105 billion US dollars).

Just a month ago, at Reliance Industries' annual general meeting, Mukesh announced plans to list telecom company Jio on the stock exchange. Subsequently, international financial advisory firm JP Morgan valued two group companies – Jio Infocomm and Reliance Retail. Reliance Retail's valuation stands at 143 billion US dollars and Jio Infocomm's valuation at 135 billion US dollars.

Notably, Mukesh has moved to first position this year, pushing Gautam Adani and his family to second place, who topped last year's M3M Hurun India list.

In the Forbes list, Gautam Adani and his family occupy the second position among India's ultra-rich with wealth of approximately ₹8.50 lakh crore (92 billion US dollars). Although US short seller Hindenburg Research leveled allegations of unethical transactions against Adani and his companies in a report, market regulator SEBI dismissed Hindenburg Research's claims last month due to lack of adequate evidence, offering significant relief to Adani. After Hindenburg raised allegations of unethical transactions against the Adani group, shares of all group companies had tumbled in 2023.

Savitri Jindal of another Indian industrial conglomerate OP Jindal Group has secured third place in Forbes' list of wealthy Indians. Although her total wealth decreased by 3.5 billion US dollars to 40.2 billion US dollars, Savitri managed to retain her position.

However, the biggest surprise in this year's list is Sunil Mittal, chairman of telecom company Bharti Airtel. While he was in seventh position in last year's Forbes list of wealthy Indians, he has moved to fourth position this year. His total wealth has increased by 3.5 billion US dollars to 34.2 billion US dollars. He has secured fourth position for the first time since 2008.
