Banking sector holiday to be noticed the following week on account of regional festivals, customers should check holiday dates of their specific location before visiting specific branches for this week.

Bank customers are advised to plan their financial work in advance, as banking operations will be closed for up to five days in various regions across India during the last week of October and the beginning of November 2025.

It is important to note that these holidays are not applicable nationwide. The five-day closure includes regional festivals and the standard weekly Sunday holiday. Banks in different states will be closed on different days, as per the holiday calendar released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

The holidays this week are primarily due to Chhath Puja, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birthday, and Kannada Rajyotsava.

Monday, October 27, 2025

Chhath Puja (Sandhya Arghya): Banks will be closed in Bihar (Patna), Jharkhand (Ranchi), and West Bengal (Kolkata). However, banks in other metropolitan areas like New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai will remain open.

Tuesday, October 28, 2025

Chhath Puja (Usha Arghya): Banking operations will only be suspended in Bihar (Patna) and Jharkhand (Ranchi).

Friday, October 31, 2025

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birthday: Only the Gujarat (Ahmedabad) region will observe bank holidays.

Saturday, November 1, 2025

Kannada Rajyotsava/ Igas-Bagwal: Bank branches will be closed in Karnataka (Bengaluru) and Uttarakhand (Dehradun). Since this day is also the first Saturday of the month, banks in all other states will be operational as per their regular working hours.

Sunday, November 2, 2025

All banks across India will be closed as per their regular weekend holiday.

Plan your financial work during these bank holidays

Bank customers are advised to avail themselves of the digital banking services. While physical operations in banks will be suspended for the said dates in specific regions, online services like UPI, mobile banking, internet banking, and ATMs will remain operational. However, services like cheque clearance and in-person cash deposit or withdrawals will not be available on the holidays.
