Many viewers know Tejasswi Prakash from her work on TV serials and her Bigg Boss 15 win, but she revealed in a chat with Bharti Singh on Bharti TV that her life off-screen is equally driven and strategic. In a recent interview podcast with Bharti Singh on her YouTube channel Bharti TV, Tejasswi shared how she has gradually invested in several businesses and now earns a steady income from them.

When Bharti asked why she chose to do Bigg Boss, she said, “Because COVID-19 was going on at that time. I really like working so much that even now I act, but I also have a real estate business and I have also opened a salon. Whenever I get some free time, I have to utilise it.”

Tejasswi explained that she has always been careful with money, choosing investments over luxury buys.

She focuses on businesses like real estate, saying, “You should invest in money-making assets. If I invest in a commercial property, then I know that I can get rent out of it while sitting at home. So I might not be using that property, but it is earning me an income. So, it’s not an expense but an investment that is making you money for yourself. I would advise many girls that it is very easy to get into a lot of pressure from buying expensive things. I see so many young girls wearing very expensive watches and heels.” She admitted she eventually bought a Rolex, but on her own terms, adding that a smart person won’t judge her for what she wears.

She continued, “If I can invest in a business today, then you would be very stupid to think that I can’t buy these expensive watches. It’s very obvious that it’s my decision to not take that and rather invest in a real estate business and make different properties.”

She also spoke about why she often drives her i20 despite owning a ₹1 crore Audi, explaining, “I like my bigger car, but I often travel in my i20 because it is so convenient. The bigger car needs space to park, but this is not the case with the i20. There is also this worry of somebody scratching the car, and it involves extra expenses, so I prefer taking out an i20 because it is so fast and you can park it anywhere, and it is a beautiful car. I think very practically. My iPhone is also three years old, and it’s not that I will buy a new iPhone every year. I don’t care.”

She compared her practical approach to that of boyfriend Karan Kundra, saying he spends freely because he comes from money, while she still hesitates before buying anything expensive since she didn’t grow up with the same privileges.

Even now, she thinks twice about costly items, saying, “Even now, when I buy a bag and its leather starts going, I don’t like it.”
