Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has announced the acquisition of men’s grooming brand Muuchstac in a huge ₹450-crore deal, marking one of the most remarkable success stories in India’s D2C sector. Muuchstac began in 2017 with just ₹3 lakh, bootstrapped by founders Vishal Lohia and Ronak Bagadia from Bhayander, and has now turned into a multi-crore enterprise powered entirely by operational profits, without a single year of losses.
Muuchstac’s meteoric rise can be traced to a single breakthrough product: the Muuchstac Face Wash.
After years of modest growth, the brand identified strong consumer traction for this one SKU in 2023 and pivoted its entire strategy around it. Today, the face wash contributes nearly 90% of Muuchstac’s revenue and ranks as the No. 2 men’s face wash in online sales, and likely No. 3 in the overall category.

Sudhir Sitapati, CEO and managing director of GCPL, shared on his LinkedIn post, “The business, expected to hit a revenue of INR 80 crore in a few months, was indeed smaller than what strategics usually like. But a number that stood out was the EBITDA of INR 30 crore. Intrigued, we dug a bit deeper.”
He also added, “On 10 November 2025, we bought out Muuchstac in a ₹ 450 crore deal, at an attractive valuation for Godrej Consumer Products Limited.”
With the company expected to hit ₹80 crore in revenue and ₹30 crore EBITDA in the coming months, the acquisition offers GCPL an attractively valued, high-margin brand while delivering the founders an extraordinary return of over 15,000x.
Vishal and Ronak will continue to lead the brand under GCPL’s wing, with expanded resources now poised to unlock the next phase of Muuchstac’s growth.
