How did this defence stock perform in the second quarter of the current financial year?

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) released its financial report for the second quarter of the current financial year on Wednesday. The state-owned enterprise in the country's defence sector saw its profit increase between July and September. Compared to last year, the company's net profit increased by 10.5 % to ₹1,669 crore. In the second quarter of the last financial year, this figure was ₹1,510 crore.

Along with net profit, HAL's revenue also increased. Compared to the second quarter of the last financial year, revenue increased by 11 % this year to ₹6,628 crore. Last year, this figure was ₹5,976 crore.

Along with the increase in net profit and revenue figures, the expenses of this Maharatna company have also increased. Compared to the second quarter of the last financial year, expenses increased by approximately 17.34 % As a result, EBITDA decreased by approximately 5 %.

This defence sector organisation has multiple work orders in hand. In November itself, HAL signed an agreement with America's General Electric company. HAL has contracted for 113 F404-GE-IN20 engines. HAL will receive delivery of all these engines between 2027 and 2032.

Although HAL's net profit increased in the second quarter of the current financial year, HAL's share price fell by 2.67 % on Wednesday to ₹4,732. Despite fluctuations over the past month, there has been no major change in the share price. However, this stock has increased by 6.60 % over the past 6 months. Over the past year, this stock's price has increased by approximately 11.5 %. However, over the past five years, investors have received a 1,125 % return from this stock.
