India’s largest airline, IndiGo, on Wednesday began its direct long-haul service between Mumbai and Copenhagen, Denmark, marking its first entry into the Scandinavian region.
The new route makes Copenhagen IndiGo’s 44th international and 138th overall destination, further expanding its growing global network, according to an ANI report.
What are the flight dates and timings?
The thrice-weekly flights are being operated using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft leased from Norse Atlantic Airways. The aircraft features dual-class cabins, including Economy and IndiGoStretch, the airline’s premium business offering.
The schedule of flights operating between Mumbai and Copenhagen is as follows:
- Flight 6E 0041 from Mumbai to Copenhagen will operate thrice weekly, departing at 04:35 and arriving at 10:05.
- The return flight, 6E 0042 from Copenhagen to Mumbai, will also operate thrice weekly, departing at 12:30 and arriving at 00:30 the next day.
According to IndiGo, the new Mumbai–Copenhagen connection will enhance travel convenience and open up opportunities for trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between India and Northern Europe. It follows the airline’s recent long-haul launches to Manchester and Amsterdam.
A milestone in IndiGo’s international expansion
IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers said the new route represents a “strategic gateway to the Nordic region” and reflects the airline’s evolution from a leading Indian carrier to a global aviation player. “As we continue on our journey of evolution from a major Indian airline to a global aviation player, we are delighted to be able to offer our customers the option of flying with India's preferred airline and experience IndiGo's distinctive and reliable service," he added, as per ANI.
