Today, on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate BSNL's 4G services. The launch of BSNL’s ‘indigenous 4G network’ is scheduled to take place from Jharsuguda, Odisha. The state-owned telecom company has announced that in the near future, 97,500 4G mobile tower sites are slated to become operational.
The company has plans to activate more 4G network sites in near future. On Friday, BSNL authorities claimed that they are working vigorously to launch 5G networks in the future. Trials for this has already commenced. Notably, BSNL is poised to celebrate its Silver Jubilee this year. To commemorate this milestone, the authorities aim to make a lasting impression through domestic innovation.
Furthermore, they assert that the company is progressing towards profitability. BSNL also revealed today that their 4G stack incorporates the radio access network of Tejas Networks. Additionally, TCS authorities are serving as the company's system integrator. The installation of the company's 97,500 mobile 4G towers has incurred a cost of 37,000 crore rupees. Under the Digital India Fund, more than 18,900 4G sites of the company are set to connect 26,700 remote villages.
