Banks closed for 6 consecutive days in West Bengal, complete your tasks before holiday

Banks in Kolkata and West Bengal will be closed for six consecutive days during Durga Puja, from September 29 to October 2, reopening on October 3.

Banks in Kolkata and West Bengal will remain closed for four days during Durga Puja. All types of banks: both state-owned and private, will be closed from Maha Saptami to Bijaya Dashami due to the Durga Puja celebration. Banks will be closed on Sunday during Maha Shashthi. Again, banks will also stay closed on Maha Panchami as it falls on the fourth Saturday of the month. This means various banks in the state will be on holiday for 6 consecutive days.

Therefore, if you have any important bank-related work, it must be completed between Thursday and Friday.

September 27: Fourth Saturday of the month

September 28: Sunday

September 29: Maha Saptami

September 30: Maha Ashtami

October 1: Maha Navami

October 2: Bijaya Dashami and Gandhi Jayanti

After remaining closed for 6 consecutive days, banks will resume operation in the state on October 3, Friday. Banks will open on October 4, Saturday. Then on October 5, Sunday, banks will remain closed for a weekly holiday. Then again,on October 6, Monday, banks in West Bengal will remain closed for Lakshmi Puja.

Along with the state of West Bengal, banks in Agartala and the entire state of Tripura will also remain closed during Durga Puja. On Maha Ashtami, i.e., Tuesday, banks will be closed not only in Kolkata and Agartala but also in Guwahati, Jaipur, Imphal, Bhubaneswar, Patna, and Ranchi. On October 2, all banks across the country will remain closed for Gandhi Jayanti.
