The festive season will continue throughout October. On this occasion, the country's stock market will remain closed for multiple days next month. Both of India's major exchanges - the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) - will be closed on these days. Including Saturdays and Sundays, the stock market will be closed for a total of 11 days in October.
Trading takes place five days a week on both stock exchanges in the country. The stock market is usually open from Monday to Friday. It remains closed on Saturdays and Sundays. However, in addition to all Saturdays and Sundays in October, the NSE and BSE will be closed for three more days.
October 2 is Gandhi Jayanti. Vijaya Dashami or Dussehra will also be celebrated on the same day. On this occasion, the country's share market will remain closed on Thursday, October 2. After that, the share market will be closed for Diwali. Dalal Street will be padlocked on October 21 and 22 for Diwali. The Multi Commodity Exchange and the Currency Derivatives segment will also remain closed on these three days in October.
However, regular trading on the stock market will be closed on October 21 for Diwali. But on that day, there is Muhurat trading on the share market on the occasion of Diwali. Therefore, both stock exchanges will open for a few hours on that day. And Muhurat trading will take place.
