Pakistan won a do-or-die match in the Asia Cup 2025. In the Super Four match, Salman Ali Agha’s team defeated Sri Lanka by 5 wickets. After the match, the celebrations of two players from both teams became the talk of the town. Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed and Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga imitated each other’s celebrations. This incident caught the attention of cricket fans, and the video went viral on social media. After the match, there was also a conversation between the two players.

Which of the two players became the topic of discussion?

Pakistan’s spinner Abrar Ahmed. Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. From the start of the match, the Sri Lankan batsmen could not play big innings due to the dominance of the Pakistani bowlers. They lost wickets at regular intervals. The first incident happened in the 13th over of the innings.

Hasaranga could not read Abrar Ahmed’s googly. While trying to play a slog sweep, he was clean bowled. Right after this, Abrar imitated Hasaranga’s celebration. Crossing both hands near the shoulders and wiggling his fingers, he performed the Sri Lankan all-rounder’s trademark celebration. He also asked his teammates if he had done it correctly.

In response, Hasaranga replied in the second innings, though without any expression initially. In the sixth over of Pakistan’s innings, Fakhar Zaman was out to Thikshana’s delivery. Hasaranga dived and took a one-handed catch. Then he imitated Abrar’s send-off celebration. He didn’t stop there. In the next over, he clean bowled Sayim Ayub and once again performed the same send-off style celebration.

Seeing this, Abrar Ahmed laughed in the Pakistan dugout. This video of the two celebrations is now viral on social media. However, Sri Lanka is under considerable pressure after losing the match. They are effectively out of the race for the final. On the other hand, Pakistan got a boost.
