Indian all-rounder Rahul Tewatia has reiterated his ultimate goal: representing India. Speaking to ANI, he said, "There is no other option to look for. Everyone has the same aim. When we started playing cricket, we used to watch matches on TV. We used to watch India's matches. We used to sit and think that playing for India is a dream. And if the day comes when I cannot play for India, then there is no point in playing cricket. For all the years we will play cricket, we will have the same aim. Never give up on your dreams. So, it's the same for me. In domestic cricket and IPL, I will do my best in my performance. It's in my mind to represent the country."
Tewatia has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket across formats. In T20s, he has scored 2,075 runs in 166 matches at a strike rate of 144.49 and taken 69 wickets. In List A cricket, he has 1,195 runs at an average of 45.96 and 59 wickets. Even in First-Class cricket, Tewatia has showcased his all-round skills, scoring 535 runs and claiming 32 wickets in 14 matches.
Tewatia has been part of the Gujarat Titans (GT) since 2022. He praised the franchise for its supportive environment, from practice sessions to family care during the IPL season. He also lauded head coach Ashish Nehra, describing him as a mentor who guides players through mistakes and encourages skill development, according to ANI.
In 108 IPL matches, Tewatia has scored 1,112 runs with a strike rate of 137.11 and taken 32 wickets. He is especially remembered for his 2020 feat of hitting five sixes in an over against Sheldon Cottrell.
