Aditya Academy Group of Schools organised the School Cinema International Film Festival (SCIFF) from November 27 to 29, drawing over 3,000 students and parents across the three days.

The school campus turned festive for a winter carnival, with game and food stalls and a dedicated gaming zone, adding to the excitement and making the event a celebration of learning, creativity, and fun.

Sabita Saha, Director of Academics at Aditya Academy Group of Schools, shares her experience, “This program aimed to inspire young minds, foster creativity, and create lasting memories. We screened a mix of educational and entertaining films, carefully chosen to spark curiosity and ignite imagination.”

SCIFF is not just a film festival but a movement that aims to bring the world of cinema into classrooms. Launched in 2017, it is a pioneering initiative where schools host their own film festivals on campus.

Through this platform, students get the opportunity to watch acclaimed international films, learn about the art of filmmaking, and even create their own impactful short films.

As part of this initiative, School Cinema has been introduced into the curriculum to support students’ social and emotional development. The film-based lessons help young learners build essential life skills and strengthen their mental well-being.

Using cinematic storytelling and related activities, School Cinema encourages students to understand everyday challenges, deal with peer pressure, navigate relationships, and develop empathy.

With an engaging mix of entertainment and education, this year’s SCIFF once again highlighted the power of films in shaping young minds and creating meaningful learning experiences within the school environment.
