In light of the recent cloudburst and the severe transport disruption caused across Kolkata and its surroundings, Jadavpur University had to suspend the verification and admission process for M.Sc. (Day & Evening) courses that were scheduled on 23rd and 24th September 2025.
Jadavpur University published the notice: "Due to this unexpected natural calamity and the ensuing disruption on university campuses and surroundings, the verification/ admission process for M.Sc. (Day & Evening) courses scheduled for 23/9/2025 and 24/9/2025 has been suspended."
The university also said in another notice, “Due to this unprecedented natural calamity and subsequent situation in the university campuses, all the academic activities and other scheduled administrative meetings will remain suspended for today.”
The university has now announced the revised dates and times for the admission and verification process across various departments.

On Tuesday, nearly 200 mm of overnight rainfall brought the city to a standstill. Jadavpur University, like the rest of Kolkata, was left waterlogged and crippled by the deluge, forcing a complete halt to its academic activities and admission/ verification process.
