Shashi Tharoor’s sharp wit has struck again and this time, on Shah Rukh Khan’s 60th birthday. The Congress MP marked the occasion with a tongue-in-cheek tribute that quickly went viral across social media.
Calling SRK the “ultimate King of Bollywood,” Tharoor jokingly questioned whether the superstar has actually aged at all. “I’m finding this ‘60’ number deeply suspicious,” he wrote. “A crack team of independent fact-checkers and forensic detectives investigated this "60" claim & concluded: "In the complete and absolute absence of any discernible visual evidence—specifically, no non-photoshopped grey hair, no undeniable signs of slowing down, and a persistent appearance of someone significantly younger—the claim that Shah Rukh Khan is turning 60 cannot be factually confirmed.”
He went on to say that Khan might secretly be living out a “real-life, decades-long, global-scale Bollywood adaptation of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”
‘Reverse ageing operation’ theory goes viral
Tharoor didn’t stop there. Continuing his playful analysis, he added that SRK’s energy levels, charm, and looks seem to be “ageing in reverse.” “I suspect the official story is a cover-up,” Tharoor quipped, adding that Khan defies “physics and biology” with every passing year.
Fans flooded the comments section with laughing emojis and heart symbols, praising Tharoor’s creativity and humour. Many even joked that the politician’s “investigative report” was the most accurate one of the days.
Tharoor’s recent brush with Bollywood
Tharoor’s post also follows his recent praise for Aryan Khan’s Netflix series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, which he described as “absolute OTT gold.” Sharing his thoughts on X, he revealed that his sister, Smita Tharoor, recommended the show while he was recovering from a cold and that he “couldn’t stop watching.”

SRK’s 60th birthday celebration
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his milestone birthday privately at his Alibaug residence with family and close friends. As always, fans gathered outside Mannat, his iconic Bandra home, to wish him at midnight, a tradition that has continued for years.
The actor, who delivered two of the year’s biggest blockbusters with Pathaan and Jawan, thanked fans for their unwavering love, promising that “the best is yet to come.”
