With the launch of his debut feature film, Maharathi Karna: Ek Yoddha, filmmaker Dharamendra Singh Gurjar, popularly known as Dharam, Indian cinema is going to get a new voice. The movie, produced by Shiva, Kaptan Singh Gurjar, Suresh Gurjar, and Anand Gurjar, will release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, so the audience across the country can enjoy the legendary journey of Karna.
Karna's tale in contemporary perspective
Dharam, who had worked on films such as Drishyam 2 in the past and done several ad and music videos, mentioned that the film is a childhood dream. "Karna’s life teaches us that greatness is earned through actions, not birth. This film honours every unsung warrior who stands by their principles," Dharam informed the press. The story is sure to strike a balance between the mythology of grandeur and real-life emotions to connect with audiences of all ages.
The movie will tie together strong storytelling, a high level of emotional performances, and visually impressive scenes. Dharam stated that fans will see Karna's determination, loyalty, and bravery, bringing alive a hero who defied destiny to build his own destiny.
The Dharam Cinematic Universe gets underway
Maharathi Karna: Ek Yoddha also sets the tone for the first chapter of the Dharam Cinematic Universe (DCU), an intended series that will explore Indian myths, warriors, and alternate heroes. "Through DCU, I want to revive forgotten stories from our history and mythology, presenting them in a way that connects with today’s audiences," said Dharam. The shoot, on Frozen Berg Production LLP and DCU, combines contemporary filmmaking with classic storytelling, ensuring both substance and spectacle.
With this first film, Dharam enters the limelight not only as a director, but as the creator of a world of films that honors valor, destiny, and dharma. Viewers are now going to witness an age when heroes are remembered not by their birth, but by what they achieve.
