After great theatre reviews, Jolly LLB 3 is all set for its digital debut. The third film in Subhash Kapoor’s hit legal franchise brings both versions of ‘Jolly’ - Akshay Kumar's Advocate Jagdishwar Mishra and Arshad Warsi's Advocate Jagdish Tyagi, face to face in a courtroom showdown that mixes humour with biting social commentary.

Based on real events, set in a charged courtroom

This instalment takes inspiration from the Bhatta Parsaul land grab case, where farmers were killed for refusing to surrender their land in the name of “development.” In Jolly LLB 3, the story follows Rajaram Solanki, a farmer who dies by suicide after losing his land to corrupt officials and a builder named Haribhai Khaitan.

Akshay Kumar’s Mishra initially represents Khaitan for financial gain, while Arshad Warsi’s Tyagi fights for the farmers. The clash between the two advocates fuels most of the film’s drama before they unite to expose Khaitan’s fraud.

The film also stars Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, Saurabh Shukla, and Gajraj Rao in key roles, with Shukla reprising his beloved role as the sharp and exasperated judge. According to box office tracker Sacnilk, Jolly LLB 3 grossed ₹166.25 crores worldwide, with ₹135.25 crore earned in India and a net domestic total of ₹113.74 crore.

When and where to watch?

The much-loved courtroom comedy starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi is likely to hit the OTT screens around November 14. The makers, however, are yet to officially confirm the date or streaming partner.

While the film drew large crowds for its humour and nostalgia, critics were divided. LiveMint described it as an “overly long courtroom comedy”, adding that “the chaos takes too long to come to a conclusion” but credited the film for delivering dialogues “written for claps from the audience.”

The movie’s balance of satire and sentiment, familiar faces, and a dose of courtroom chaos have made it one of this year’s most talked-about entertainers and fans now await its OTT verdict.
