August 27, Wednesday: Salman Khan's new look for his next war drama, Battle of Galwan has created a buzz on social media but not all for the good reasons. The actor, who just started shooting for the Apoorva Lakhia directorial based on the 2020 Galwan standoff, ventured out with a thick moustache that became a topic of discussion on the internet. Here’s a clip of his new look.

The appearance, which fans also noticed at Bigg Boss 19's premiere, evoked a mixed lot of reactions. While there were some who commended the actor for trying out something new with his face, most couldn't help but compare it to everything from famous TV character Jethalal to Adolf Hitler and few even called him Charlie Chaplin.

Netizens unleash memes and sarcasm

A clip of Salman waving at the paparazzi through his car window soon went viral, with netizens swarming the comments. One joked, "Credit to him for trying to look closer to his age, but surely someone should’ve shown him a Hitler pic or at least Jethalal’s." Another commented, "Salman and Ranbir can't pull off moustaches — Sultan was the only time it worked for him."

Others relied on jokes, with one post stating, "Bhai looks like Hitler after a Goa trip." Memes comparing Salman with sitcom characters and historical figures later went viral on Reddit and X.

Fans still rooting for Battle of Galwan

In spite of the trolling, fans were thrilled to see Salman in another avatar for Battle of Galwan. The film also features Chitrangada Singh, Zeyn Shaw, Ankur Bhatia, and others, but the release date is kept a secret.

Bigg Boss 19, however, featuring Salman in his new getup, is streaming on JioHotstar and keeping audiences guessing about whether or not he should sport his moustache for many weeks to come.
