On September 15, actor Pankaj Dheer, best known for playing Karna in BR Chopra's "Mahabharat," passed away at the age of 68. The news was confirmed to India Today by his longtime friend and coworker Amit Behl.
According to India Today sources, Pankaj reportedly had cancer but fought through it. However, it relapsed a few months back, and he was extremely unwell. He also went through major surgery for the same.
CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes Association) released an official statement on Wednesday, confirming the news of Dheer's death: "With profound grief and deep sorrow, we inform you of the passing away of our Trust's erstwhile Chairman and CINTAA's former Hon. General Secretary, Shri Pankaj Dheer ji, on 15th October 2025. The cremation will be held today at 4:30 p.m. Next to Pawan Hans, Vile Parle(W) Mumbai.”
Indian actor Pankaj Dheer starred in both TV shows and Hindi movies. In addition to his roles in Yug, Badho Bahu, The Great Maratha, and Chandrakanta, he is well-known for playing Karna in the television series Mahabharat. He played supporting parts in a number of Hindi movies, such as Sadak, Soldier, and Baadshah.
