However, even after this incident, many people said it was all staged. As Saif returned home from the hospital after surgery, suspicion arose in many people's minds. Nine months later, the actor mentioned the advice given by his mother, Sharmila Thakur, during his hospital stay.

On Kajol and Twinkle Khanna's talk show 'Too Much', Saif Ali Khan said why he walked home after being discharged from the hospital. Saif also mentioned how his life changed after that incident and surgery.

Saif said in the talk show that on the night of the incident, Kareena was out. Taimur, Jeh, and he had just finished a movie. After which they went to sleep. Around 2 a.m., Kareena came home, of they talked for a while. Then their househelp came and informed them that someone had entered baby Jeh's room. He had a knife in his hand and was saying he needed money.

The actor was surprised to hear this. HE jumped out of bed and ran towards Jeh's room in the dark and saw the man standing beside the bed with a knife in his hand. In the darkness, Saif thought the man to be much younger than him. He pounced on the trespasser. The man started stabbing Saif frantically with the knife in his hand in an attempt to escape.

Even after going through such a difficult time, Saif had to hear that this incident was staged. Saif said his mother, Sharmila Thakur, was really hurt by this incident. She had advised Saif to use a wheelchair instead of walking. But he wanted to give everyone the message that he is fine. And he didn't want to pay attention to what was being shown in the media. He just wanted to let his fans know that everything is fine and there is nothing to be worried about.
