HBO teaser and NYC Comic Con buzz

Before its release, the show made waves at New York Comic Con 2025. As described by author George R. R. Martin and Comic Con updates, actors Peter Claffey (Dunk) and Dexter Sol Ansell (Egg) featured on panels, bringing the legendary characters to life. Showrunner Ira Parker, who arrived from Belfast, presented the teaser and interacted with fans with behind-the-scenes insights. The Comic Con visit also featured short films based on Howard Waldrop's work, showing the convention's combination of fanfare, fantasy and literary tribute.

Plot, cast and what Indian audiences can expect

Set 100 years before Game of Thrones and succeeding House of the Dragon by a century, the tale follows a young but valorous knight Dunk and his short squire Egg along their journey in Westeros during Targaryen rule. Variety states the duo experience grand destinies, perilous enemies, and exciting quests. Claffey and Ansell star in the series along with Finn Bennett, Tanzyn Crawford, Bertie Carvel, Daniel Ings and Sam Spruell. Indian audiences can watch the series on JioHotstar, and enjoy the playful and adventurous spirit of Dunk and Egg's story on Indian television in 2026.

The trailer is already creating a buzz globally and Comic Con enthusiasts are raving over the live panels. Everyone is eagerly waiting for a Westeros story that promises fun, friendship, and epic adventures beyond the dark drama of Game of Thrones.
