Alice in Borderland has grown into one of Netflix’s most successful Japanese series globally. With its gripping survival games and psychological twists, the show has often been compared to Squid Game. The shorter episode count and off-manga plotline make this new season one of the platform’s boldest bets this year.

Alice in Borderland's season 3 launches on Netflix today, which is 25 September 2025. In addition to this, this time, fans will be able to binge-watch all six episodes at once, especially since all will be released at once.

How many episodes are there?

Unlike the previous two seasons, which had eight episodes each, season 3 will be shorter, running for six episodes in total.


Story till the last season

The second season, released in December 2022, ended on an abeyant suspension. The characters of Arisu and Usagi, played by Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya, respectively, were seen to be able to make it back to the real world and seemed ready for a happy future, until the camera revealed a Joker card, teasing more jeopardy forthcoming.


Expectations for season 3

Season 3 moves beyond Haro Aso’s manga storyline. Director Shinsuke Sato and team have crafted an original continuation where Arisu and Usagi, now married with their memories erased, are once again dragged into the Borderlands. Arisu will find himself risking everything to save Usagi as the deadly games begin anew.
