A video from the festival on December 4 shows Dakota and Aishwarya greeting each other with a long handshake and a warm chat. Dakota can be heard telling Aishwarya about her visit to India earlier this year. “We went to Maha Kumbh,” she says with a smile, prompting Aishwarya to express her delight.

The duo then posed for photographers, making for a frame that instantly went viral. Dakota stunned in a black deep-neck cut-out gown, while Aishwarya chose a beige embellished gown paired with a dramatic black shrug which is one of the most talked-about looks of the evening.
‘Unexpected collab’: Internet can’t keep calm
As soon as the clips surfaced, fans flooded comment sections with excitement.
“Unexpected collab,” wrote one user. “Two divas in one frame,” said another.
Others called them “my queens,” praising the elegance and ease the two stars shared on the carpet.
Dakota Johnson last visited India in January 2025 during Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres tour. She accompanied Chris Martin on the India leg of the tour and was seen offering prayers at Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple with Sonali Bendre and Gayatri Joshi. The pair also visited Babulnath Temple to seek blessings of Lord Shiva

What’s next for the two stars?
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan II, a critically acclaimed and commercially successful sequel featuring Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Trisha Krishnan and others. She has not yet announced her next film.
Dakota Johnson’s most recent release was Materialists (2025), co-starring Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal, which earned $108 million worldwide. She will next appear in the psychological thriller named Verity which is an adaptation from a book written by Colleen Hoover and directed by Michael Showalter and set for release in 2026 alongside Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett
