The Witcher Season 4 arrives on Netflix today, promising fresh quests, darker turns, and a brand-new White Wolf at its center. Liam Hemsworth officially dons Geralt of Rivia’s armor, taking over from Henry Cavill in what marks the show’s final stretch - Seasons 4 and 5.
Netflix has hinted at intense battles, complex emotional arcs and broad new landscapes where Geralt makes his way through a world that is becoming more and more dangerous by the day. But while fans gear up for the change, an online video is creating a buzz that has momentarily stolen the spotlight.

A 'fan cast' that broke the internet
Before the season’s release, a viral YouTube video titled “The Witcher but Netflix Cast It Right This Time” has fans re-imagining the fantasy epic with their dream cast. The AI edited clip, generated through visual effects, casts Henry Cavill back as Geralt, Eva Green as the fiery Yennefer, Elizabeth Olsen as Triss, Anya Taylor-Joy as Ciri, Sean Bean as Vesemir, and Michael Fassbender as the mysterious Gaunter O’Dimm.
One user wrote, “Sean Bean would be a great Vesemir, considering he dies in almost every role anyway,” while another said, “Eva Green isn’t just the face, she can pull off the sarcastic and tough-love traits of Yennefer".
Others couldn’t help but laugh at the luxury of it all. “This cast would’ve bankrupted them,” one fan quipped, as another added, “There exists a timeline where the witcher show was good, and Eva Green was in it."
Hemsworth’s turn as Geralt divides fans
Back in the real world, the focus now shifts to Liam Hemsworth, who steps into Cavill’s boots for a role many fans see as sacred. The actor has remained tight-lipped but promised to honor the essence of Geralt while bringing his own edge to the character. With Netflix confirming the next two seasons as the saga’s final chapters, expectations are sky-high.

As one commenter cheekily noted under the viral video: “I like how you kept Henry Cavill as Geralt" while another commented "Back then, I thought, 'Well, at least Geralt has chosen wisely.' But now they’ve ruined that one too the internet refuses to move on.”
Whether fans embrace Hemsworth’s version or cling to Cavill’s legacy, one thing is certain that The Witcher has once again cast its spell, both on screen and off.
