Meghan Markle is reportedly keeping a close eye on Taylor Swift’s wedding guest list, fearing she might not make the cut for what’s shaping up to be the most star-studded event of the decade.
Radar Online reported Meghan has privately told friends she would be “devastated” if she’s left out of Swift and Travis Kelce’s big day, despite publicly congratulating the couple on their engagement. The Duchess even liked Swift’s Instagram post, but insiders say it was a gritted-teeth gesture after the singer’s fairytale announcement stole the spotlight from Meghan’s latest projects.
Swift’s engagement reveal in August in a dreamy garden proposal captioned “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married”, took the internet by storm. Within hours, it had racked up millions of likes and dominated entertainment headlines.

The timing couldn’t have been worse for Meghan. The same day, she launched Season 2 of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, alongside a new drop from her lifestyle brand, As Ever. But both were buried under the Swift–Kelce media frenzy.
“She had been planning the launch for months,” a Hollywood insider told Radar Online. “Then Taylor casually announces her engagement and completely wipes Meghan off the map. She was furious.”
Now, sources claim Meghan is “anxious” about being left out of the wedding guest list. “She sees it as the kind of event that cements your place in the A-list hierarchy,” the insider added.
While Markle attended Swift’s Eras Tour in Los Angeles and even sent her a handwritten note, the two have never been close. Tensions reportedly deepened after Swift met Prince William and his kids backstage at her London concert which was a moment Meghan allegedly found “awkward.”
For now, the Duchess remains publicly supportive, calling Swift “inspiring” and “authentic.” But behind closed doors, friends say she’s counting the days till the invitations drop.
Because missing out on the biggest celebrity wedding of the decade would be more than a social snub for Meghan Markle. It would be a royal blow.
