Calling the film a “dream come true” opportunity, Sundar said his long-standing relationship with both the icons will always remain special.

“My association with these two icons goes back a long way. I will always hold them in the highest regard,” he added.

The Madha Gaja Raja director also extended his apologies to fans by saying, “Please accept my sincere apologies if this news has disappointed those who had eagerly anticipated this venture. I am committed to making it up to you and promise to continue bringing entertainment that keeps your spirits high,” he said.

The project, which marks the first collaboration between Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan in 46 years, was announced by Kamal at the NEXA SIIMA Awards 2025. The film was slated for release under Red Giant Movies during Pongal 2027.
