Malayalam hit Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra starring Kalyani Priyadarshan is now streaming on OTT in seven languages after a ₹300-crore run and record-breaking success.

After dominating the box office, Malayalam blockbuster Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra has arrived on OTT. The fantasy-superhero drama is now streaming on JioHotstar in seven different language versions from Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Bengali, and Marathi, expanding its reach beyond just regional boundaries.

Directed by Dominic Arun and produced under Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, the film stars Kalyani Priyadarshan in a breakthrough role as Chandra, widely appreciated as Malayalam cinema’s first female superhero. The cast also includes Naslen, Sandy Master, Tovino Thomas, Sunny Wayne, Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan.

Released theatrically on August 28, 2025, Lokah opened modestly before becoming a nationwide hit through strong word-of-mouth. Made on a reported budget of ₹30 crore, it went on to gross over ₹300 crore worldwide, emerging as the highest-earning Malayalam film till date. Audiences praised its mix of mythology and modern science, along with Jakes Bejoy’s rousing background score and striking visuals rooted in Kerala’s folklore. Critics noted that Kalyani’s performance reshaped the superhero archetype for Indian screens which is emotional, rooted, and fiercely modern.

Next chapter teased

Producer-actor Dulquer Salmaan has confirmed that Lokah will continue as part of a larger cinematic universe. The sequel, Lokah: Chapter 2, is expected to feature Tovino Thomas as Chaatan, extending the storyline into an interconnected superhero world.

With the film now streaming in multiple Indian languages, viewers can now enjoy the thrill across regions and can experience one of Malayalam cinema’s most ambitious creations right from home.
