The much-awaited teaser of Mahesh Narayanan's socio-political action thriller Patriot was released on Thursday, exciting fans of Malayalam cinema. The movie reunites two of Mollywood's largest legends, Mohanlal and Mammootty, on screen for the first time in 16 years, along with Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Darshana Rajendran, and Revathy.

Intriguing teaser and power-packed performance

The teaser introduces Mammootty as Dr Daniel James, a retired JAG officer accused of espionage, and Mohanlal as battle-veteran Col. Rahim Naik, who will do everything to bring his name back on track and safeguard the country. Fahadh Faasil's introductory narration establishes the tone, giving a sneak peek into the iconic duo's legendary equation: "I remember my father saying there was a time when this nation was controlled by the two of them. Together. Over all these years, what they earned wasn't just followers...Faith! "

Patriot marks Mammootty’s comeback after an eight-month break due to health reasons, which delayed the shoot. So far, about 60% of the project has been completed. Recently, the shoot resumed in Hyderabad.

Directed by Anto Joseph, Patriot is likely to reach cinema halls around Vishu in April 2026, but an official release date has not been announced yet.
