The latest news says that the promo shoot for Thalaivar174 is already completed. Rumours further state that the producers have created a special teaser featuring both superstars in a style inspired by the 1980s. Valai Pechu said, "Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have just finished an 80s-style promo shoot for their next movie."

The promo is said to show both actors dressed in retro outfits. They are also taking a ride in a car together. In it, Rajinikanth tosses the car keys to Kamal Haasan in his signature style, and Kamal catches them before they both get into the car.
