She has spent nearly fifteen years in the industry. After gaining popularity on the small screen, she has been on the big screen for a long time. However, this is the first time Sohini Sarkar will be seen in a project directed by Pratim De Gupta. Explaining how her character in the film 'Ranna Bati' is different, the actress said, "Usually I have worked in next-door girl or marginalised or protest-oriented characters. But I haven't done any very glamorous, socially conscious character. One who thinks very carefully and speaks in a measured way."

In the film, set to release in early November, the actress will be seen in the role of a chef and cooking coach. When asked how she prepared for that character, Sohini said, "Usually after I listen to and memorise the dialogue, I try to say it with some words of my own. So that there is a uniqueness in saying those words. I believe that I exist in some way or another in all characters. But in this case, there was an aspect of developing the habit of speaking to the point."

However, she is leaving everything to the audience without keeping extra expectations regarding the different characters. Sohini said, "Now even psychologists are saying don't keep expectations from anyone. Still, there remains some. It's also true that standing in 2025, we have to learn modern relationships without expectations. We are a strange generation; we have seen many transitions. We have also placed books at God's feet. Again, we are learning the language of Gen Z from handling social media trolling."

Many in the industry say that, alongside excellent acting, Sohini Sarkar also cooks well. Laughing a bit about this, the actress said, "I am somewhat obsessed with cooking. In some cases, there have been arguments with Pratimda about how a dish should be prepared well." About the shooting experience, she added, "Although I am Idar's (Dasgupta) aunt, we have a wonderful friendship. And everyone in the team had a lot of fun."

Sharing her thoughts on the post-Puja release clash of four films, Sohini said, "Instead of internal tensions, it would have been good if only the films reached the audience. But we live in such a time when perhaps nothing can be hidden anymore. And now many people take trolling positively, too. In the end, it's the work that speaks. People want to see good films. I was part of a film; otherwise, I might have been in a position to answer better. But I think the conflict is also temporary, we will see everyone sitting together and having tea again."
