While the nation celebrates Durga Puja, the homicide of a Bengali woman near the nation's capital has sent shock waves throughout the country. According to the police, the young woman was murdered, and her husband committed suicide.
According to police sources, the incident happened last Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Ajay Kumar (30). Ajay, a resident of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, was married to Sweety Sharma (28) from Asansol.
They got married three years ago, and both were working in an IT firm in Gurugram. Police sources revealed that Ajay had sent a video message to his friends, threatening that he was going to commit suicide. After that, his friends informed the police by phone.
He sent the message at 3:15 PM on Sunday. According to the video, the couple was quarreling before the incident took place. When the police reached their residence, they found Sweety’s body lying on the ground with injury marks, and Ajay hanging from the ceiling fan. Both bodies have been sent for autopsy.
According to preliminary police assumptions, Sweety was murdered by her husband, Ajay, and afterwards, he committed suicide. The reason for their quarrel is being investigated. Meanwhile, Sweety’s family members have filed a murder complaint against Ajay at the local police station. The incident has left the family devastated.
