A chilling incident has unfolded in Maharashtra. Allegedly, a father drowned his four-month-old infant in a drum of water. Police report that after murdering his child, the man took his own life. The incident occurred in Talwada village of Jiurai taluka in Beed district. On Saturday, Maharashtra Police disclosed the entire matter.
According to police sources, the child's father, Amol Sonavane, first submerged his infant in a blue drum filled with water. After killing the child, Amol proceeded to end his own life. The infant was reportedly wearing a pink T-shirt and a diaper. A plastic mug was also found in the drum.
Police have revealed that Amol had previously attempted suicide. A few days ago, in the wake of a family dispute, Amol and his wife had jointly attempted to take their own lives. On that occasion, however, thanks to the swift action of locals, both were rescued in time and admitted to the hospital. They had been discharged from the local hospital last Thursday.
The bodies of Amol and his child have been sent to the Talwada Primary Health Center for post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into this incident.
