A three-year-old girl reportedly became an obstacle in her mother’s romantic relationship, leading to shocking allegations that the mother killed her own daughter. Police say the woman allegedly conspired with her boyfriend to commit the crime. Both the mother and her boyfriend have been arrested in connection with the case, the police confirmed on Saturday.
According to police sources, the victim has been identified as Divyanshi. On October 1, Divyanshi was allegedly kidnapped as her mother, Seema, also known as Lali, filed a complaint at the Narora police station. She claimed that her daughter had been taken away by a woman named Laltres and her associates for the purpose of killing her.
Following the complaint, the police began an investigation. On the same day, Divyanshi’s body was recovered from a local canal. Further inquiry revealed that Seema, with the help of her boyfriend Yatendra, had allegedly killed her own daughter.
Tejveer Singh, Superintendent of Police (Rural), Bulandshahr, stated that during interrogation, Seema confessed to murdering her daughter. Police said Seema had been living with her boyfriend, Yatendra, after her husband’s death. However, Divyanshi reportedly caused problems whenever Seema went to work, leading to frequent arguments between Seema and her boyfriend.
Police sources added that Seema and Yatendra had a dispute with a woman named Laltres. Allegedly, the mother and her boyfriend attempted to pin the blame for the crime on Lalatres. To do so, they killed Divyanshi before filing any complaint against her and later disposed of the child’s body in the Narora Ganga canal.
The Superintendent of Police claimed that Seema admitted she considered Divyanshi a hindrance in her life, which prompted her to kill the child. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
