Notorious Delhi ‘Godman’ Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known as Parth Sarthy, director of the Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management (SSIIM), is facing multiple allegations of sexual harassment and forgery. He has been absconding since then
17 out of the 32 girls studying under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) scholarship entered their statements with the police. The students alleged that Saraswati employed abusive language, sent obscene messages on WhatsApp and SMS and touched them physically without their consent, per the Hindustan Times.
Most of the students were pursuing PGDM courses at SSIIM when they began facing alleged harassment from Saraswati. Some even claimed that members of the faculty and administration had pressured them to give in to his demands. As one official told PTI, this created an atmosphere of fear and intimidation within the institute.
Chaitanyananda faces molestation, forgery charges as probe deepens
Police have described the allegations against Chaitanyananda as “grave misconduct and inappropriate behaviour.” Now, as part of the investigation, authorities have collected CCTV footage, conducted raids, and sent seized materials from the institute for forensic examination.
The Sri Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham publicly distanced itself from him, saying that his actions were “illegal, inappropriate, and detrimental” to the body’s interests.
Investigators also found a Volvo car having a forged diplomatic number plate, 39 UN 1, in the basement of the institute. Saraswati was said to have been using the vehicle.
Notably, the first molestation complaint against him was lodged on August 4 at the Vasant Kunj North Police Station. Later, on August 25, a separate case of cheating and forgery was filed following the discovery of the car.
