Let Nepal decide on its internal matter, although we love them. We must not interfere in this."

She also commented before leaving for her North Bengal tour, "Nepal is not my country; it is a foreign country, so I cannot comment on it. The Government of India will comment on it. But it is our neighboring country, and we love Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and all bordering nations. But given the current situation, if the Government of India tells us anything, only then can we say something. Otherwise, it is for the Government of India to take care of this matter.”

These protests have intensified and become more and more violent, leading to the deaths of at least 20 individuals and injuring over 500, as the protestors storm central government premises in Kathmandu.
