RSS is in question after a Kerala techie committed suicide a week ago, and alleged that he faced sexual abuse in the RSS sakha. A video came to the surface after his death and sparked debate. He also alleged that this harassment is constant in the RSS.
Who is Anandu Aji?
A Kerala techie and an IT professional of Kerala’s Kottayam district, identified as Anandu Aji, had committed suicide a week ago, and his death sparked questions on RSS and created a political storm. The police found a video on his laptop. The video reportedly names a person who sexually abused him.
What happened to Ananadu Aji?
The video came to the surface on October 15, which is reportedly considered his suicide note. According to the Indian Express, in the video, he stated that this may be regarded as his suicide note. He also stated that he had been sexually molested from the age of three, and that the perpetrator was now married. The abuse he suffered in childhood left him with mental health issues, and as a boy, he was hesitant to speak up because there was no evidence of the exploitation he endured.
A scheduled Instagram post also came to the surface after his death, where he alleged that he was sexually abused during his RSS( Rashtriya Sevak Sangha) sakha days, leaving him depressed. He also alleged that this harassment is still going on in RSS, which sparked political debate on the internet.
According to an Indian Express report, the family found out about the video when they opened his laptop days after his death. They added “He had left the laptop with a piece of paper on which its password and a message to open the system were written. A few days after his death, the family opened the system and recovered the video. It was handed over to the police.”
This incident sparked a debate, and Congress and CPI(M), the rulers of the Kerala government, raised concerns over the allegations he raised in his Instagram post, and also asked to condemn the RSS. Additionally, the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), also asked probe into the suicide.
