On October 7, the EFLU Students' Union organised a 'Palestine Solidarity March' on campus, despite the administration's denial of permission.

Approximately 100 students participated, displaying Palestinian flags and posters. The situation escalated when members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) attempted to remove the posters, leading to a scuffle between the groups, according to a PTI report.

Police intervened, and a 22-year-old former student was detained for allegedly raising slogans supporting Palestine and displaying its flag, according to The News Minute.

Police register case against nine students

The Osmania University Police registered a case against nine students from various student organisations, including the Students Federation of India (SFI), National Students Union of India (NSUI), and Fraternity Movement. The charges include promoting enmity between different groups, obstructing public servants, and supporting another country's flag. The university administration stated that an inquiry would be conducted, and appropriate actions would be taken as per university regulations, according to a Telangana Today report.

The incident highlights ongoing tensions over political expression and university governance in Indian campuses.
