The Indian Railways has announced suspension of platform ticket sales at 15 stations, including major ones like Delhi and Mumbai. The announcement has been made ahead of the upcoming Diwali and Chhath puja festival. This will only be in effect during the festive season to ensure a safe and smooth travelling experience.
When will the platform ticket sale start again?
The platform ticket sale will stay suspended till 28 October, according to an Indian Express report. However, as per the Railway Board guidelines, platform tickets will still be issued to senior citizens, ailing passengers, children and female passengers requiring assistance during the festive season.
