The Ministry of Youth Affairs, Government of India, has recognized Grace Lalrinpari Hauzel, a young achiever from Khatla, Aizawl, as a National Youth Icon as part of the Viksit Bharat Connect initiative. She is one of a small number of exceptional young people honored for their social contributions and leadership.
Who is Grace Lalrinpari Hauzel?
Presently enrolled in the fifth semester of Pachhunga University College's (PUC) history program, Grace Lalrinpari Hauzel has already made a great impression with a number of noteworthy accomplishments.
She attended the SOUL Global Conclave earlier this year as a delegate and represented Mizoram at the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025. Among her achievements is the fact that she placed first out of 11 Mizoram districts in the State-level National Youth Parliament Competition 2024. Then, at the National Youth Parliament Festival 2024, she served as a Youth MP for the state.
Miss Grace has achieved success in several roles outside of parliament. She has won awards in debate and essay writing contests at the national level and was given the Best Volunteer Award at the North-East Festival 2024 in Agartala.
According to Virthil.in, speaking about her recognition, Grace expressed gratitude and reaffirmed her commitment to youth empowerment. She said, “I hope to dedicate my efforts to teaching and inspiring young people to dream big and serve society with responsibility.”
The goal of the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect program is to give upcoming leaders a platform and involve the nation's youth in nation-building. In addition to boosting Mizoram's pride, Grace's recognition emphasizes the expanding influence of young voices in determining India's future.
According to the website of Pacchunga University College (PUC), six NSS volunteers of PUC represented Mizoram in Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025. Among the six NSS volunteers of PUC, Grace Lalrinpari Hauzel was selected as one of the Youth Representatives of India during the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025, held from January 10–12, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
During the event, participants, meticulously chosen through rigorous state-level competitions, competed in teams on various themes while also being individually assessed.
