Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the site of the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar to review progress and prepare for its soon-to-be inauguration, signalling a major leap in regional connectivity and infrastructure development.

The Chief Minister conducted a detailed site visit to the airport under construction in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar district, where the first phase is nearing completion. Officials from the Yamuna International Airport Private Limited and other authorities presented updates on the runway, terminal construction and connectivity works. He issued strict instructions to ensure operational readiness, highlighting that this airport will transform the NCR region’s infrastructure landscape, according to a PTI report.

The airport, being built under a public-private partnership model, will in its first phase cover around 1,300 hectares with one runway and one terminal. Eventually, the full site will span nearly 5,000 hectares across four phases, making it one of India’s largest.

While there is no formal confirmation of the inauguration date, earlier indications pointed to 30 October as a tentative launch day. However, officials say a final announcement is yet to be made.

The first flights could start by December this year, the government has said, provided all regulatory clearances, including the aerodrome licence, are in place. The site inspection by Yogi Adityanath is widely viewed as a prelude to setting the date.
