They received Rs 1,100 as a Diwali bonus. As soon as the Diwali bonus was transferred into their hands, the toll plaza employees in Fatehabad, Uttar Pradesh, exploded in anger. After this, they opened all the gates of the toll plaza. As all the gates were opened, more than a hundred vehicles crossed the Agra-Lucknow Expressway without paying any money. This incident on Monday caused major disruption in traffic. On receiving information, the police quickly reached the spot and normalised the situation.

Notably, 21 employees of Fatehabad toll plaza were given a bonus of Rs 1,100 on Monday for the Diwali festival. But they weren’t satisfied with this small amount of money in this phase of the festival. After that, the toll plaza employees decided to stop work and open the toll gates. After opening the toll gates, about two hours later, around a thousand vehicles crossed the Agra-Lucknow Expressway without paying any money. As a result, the company had to face a lot of losses.

In such a situation, the toll authorities decided to bring in workers from other toll plazas and continue the work. But the protesting employees prevented the new workers from working.

As a result, the situation worsened. After receiving the news, the police reached the toll plaza and talked to the company and the workers. Finally, the toll authorities promised to increase the salary by up to 10 per cent to satisfy the workers. Hearing that, the workers returned to work happily. After about two hours, the toll plaza's work returned to normal.

The company has informed that since March this year, a company named Shri Sign & Datar has taken over the responsibility of the toll plaza. Therefore, they have not been able to pay the employees a full year's bonus.
