The Election Commission of India on Thursday praised the “successful” completion of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, which saw a voter turnout of 67.13 % - the highest in the state since 1951. The Commission also noted that no repolls were required in any of Bihar’s 38 districts.
According to the ECI’s official press release, a total of 2,616 candidates and 12 recognised political parties contested the two-phase elections held on November 6 and 11, and none of them requested repolling in any constituency.
"Zero repolls in Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, No re-polls requested by 2,616 candidates, No re-polls requested by 12 recognised political parties," the EC stated in the release.

"Zero appeals during SIR in Bihar with 7,45,26,858 electors in the final Electoral Roll," the press note added.
The press release also mentioned, "Counting will commence at 8:00 AM. on 14th November 2025. As per Commission’s directions, postal ballot counting will begin first, counting of EVMs will begin thereafter at 8.30 AM. Counting of Postal ballots is to be completed before the penultimate round of EVM counting."

The Commission also outlined the detailed preparations for the vote counting on November 14. Counting will take place across all 243 Assembly Constituencies under the watch of 243 Returning Officers and 243 Counting Observers, along with candidates or their representatives. In total, 4,372 counting tables have been set up, each handled by a counting supervisor, an assistant, and a micro-observer, while more than 18,000 counting agents will help maintain transparency in the process.
ECI said, "Results will be compiled and made available round-wise and constituency-wise by the respective ROs on the official ECI results portal https://results.eci.gov.in."
