On Monday morning, a severe fire in Mumbai’s Colaba Kufe Parade Chowle area claimed the life of a minor and left three people seriously injured.

According to police sources, the fire broke out around 4:15 AM on the ground floor of a building. A 15-year-old boy, Yash Vittal Khot, died in the blaze. Three others—Biraj Khot, Sangram Kurne, and Devendra Choudhury—suffered serious injuries. All four people were taken to St. George’s Hospital, where doctors declared Yash dead, while the others are undergoing treatment.

The police reported that the fire destroyed the building’s electric wiring, three electric vehicle batteries, and some electronic items. Firefighters initially suspected a short circuit as the cause, though the exact reason is under investigation.

Fire crews reached the scene promptly and managed to control the blaze after nearly half an hour of effort.
