Even before sunrise, eager customers were spotted lining up outside the Apple Store at Phoenix Marketcity in Bengaluru, checking out the new iPhone 17 features inside the store displays. Similar scenes unfolded in Mumbai’s BKC flagship outlet and Saket’s Apple store in Delhi.
An ANI report reads, “A potential iPhone buyer, Gauri Shankar from Bengaluru, expressed his excitement about the new Apple phone series, saying that he is now eagerly waiting for new and updated gadgets from tech company Apple, especially the iPhone 18.”
"I have been buying iPhones for many years. This was a great experience. This is my first time in an Apple Store. I am very excited and now I am waiting for the iPhone 18," said Gauri Shankar, as quoted in the report by ANI.
In Mumbai, tensions flared when a few people tried to cut lines, leading to a scuffle. Security had to step in to calm things down and restore order. One buyer even complained about weak crowd control and people breaking the queue ahead of him, according to an India Today report.
Meanwhile, in Delhi’s Saket area, some attendees sat on chairs overnight, anxious to be among the first inside, as per an HT report.
Apple launched the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro / Pro Max, and the new iPhone Air on September 9, 2025. The Pro series features a full-width camera plateau, a larger battery, and design tweaks.
Prices in India start around ₹82,900 for the base model, with Pro and Pro Max versions going significantly higher. Apple has also moved more of its manufacturing to India, assembling the full iPhone 17 lineup domestically, which is a shift from dependence on China, according to The Verge.
The launch excitement confirms one thing: Apple’s brand loyalty in India remains strong. Even premium pricing and crowd challenges haven’t dimmed the excitement for fans and early adopters.
