Mumbai and several parts of Uttar Pradesh have been placed on high alert after a explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort killed eight people and left at least 24 others injured on Monday.
Security sources told NDTV that agencies in Maharashtra’s capital are tightening surveillance across several public spaces including railway stations, and airports, following Delhi blast. Additional police units have been deployed at sensitive spots, with orders to maintain round-the-clock vigilance.
Police across all UP districts have also been asked to stay on alert. An order issued from Lucknow directed officials to intensify patrols and carry out strict checks in high-footfall and sensitive areas.
